Leaders in Partnership

1:1 coaching programme for leaders, by leaders

What is Leaders in Partnership

Leaders in Partnership (LiP) is a 1:1 coaching programme between third sector leaders and senior employees from the business world, created to strengthen the leadership of Islington not-for-profit organisations. Through working with volunteer coaches, community leaders get the space to explore professional challenges, identify solutions and embrace opportunities, strengthening their organisations as a result.

How the programme works:

• Community leaders are paired with a volunteer coach for a ten month, 1:1 partnership, where they will be supported to overcome key challenges.

• The programme is best suited to those community leaders that have worked in the third sector for at least five years, and have responsibility for programmes or projects, teams of people, or an organisation. They must work for a charity or community organisation that serves Islington communities.

• Coaches will be volunteers in senior roles across BIG Alliance’s corporate partner companies, predominantly large multinational businesses that operate in the financial, legal and insurance sectors, amongst others. Volunteers will have a wide variety of roles, experience and skills.

• All volunteers will receive coaching training ahead of the programme, and be equipped with tools and guidance to best support their partner.

• Following a careful matching process, community leaders will meet their coaches at a launch event and will then meet their partners for one hour per month for ten months. Coaches and coachees are also required to attend mid-point and celebration events. They will receive monthly communications with tools, guidance and ideas for building a successful coaching relationship and receive ongoing support from BIG Alliance
