Why did you decide to volunteer on the Samuel Rhodes programme?
I did this mentoring programme last year and found it to be so fun, engaging and rewarding. I needed to do it again this year!
How have you found the programme? What have you enjoyed?
I’ve enjoyed seeing the students grow in confidence week after week, trying new things and building their social and professional skills. The joy and energy they bring is infectious!
What have you achieved at the end of it?
A sense of feeling as though I’ve had some input into making a difference in these young peoples lives and introduced them to life skills they may not have had before.
What advice would you give to your colleagues who are thinking about volunteering?
Do it! You won’t regret it and it will leave your day feeling a little brighter!
